How to make the perfect strawberry milkshake! This is a quick and easy recipe on how to make the perfect strawberry milkshake, to be enjoyed in all seasons.

Since we are stuck in Winter here in Auckland I wanted to brighten up my husbands day and make him one of his favourite milkshakes. Who doesn’t want one of these?

What I love about milkshakes is they are so versatile, you can easily change the flavours to anything you like. For me the key to a really awesome milkshake from a substandard one is the ICE CREAM! I chose Tip Top’s Vanilla (not French Vanilla) because its creamy and soft and not overly sweet.

Another reason you are going to love these Milkshakes is because they are easy! Just throw everything into your blender and serve….so easy and well I’m all about easy.

How to make the perfect Strawberry Milkshake Tips:

My 8 top tips:

1.Milk

  • I use standard milk for hubby’s milkshake, however I prefer almond milk in mine. You could also quite comfortably substitute almond or standard milk for coconut milk as another option.

2. Strawberries

  • This time I used frozen strawberries but that’s only Because we are in Winter here in Auckland and the strawberries are way too expensive. Come summer which is about 3 months away I will be using fresh strawberries. Albeit the benefit to frozen strawberries is that you get a nicely chilled milkshake without having to add ice.

3. Ice Cream

  • My favourite is vanilla ice cream, (boring eh?) In this recipe I used NZ’s Tip Top Vanilla Ice cream but you could substitute that for Yogurt, Gelato or another brand you prefer.

4. Decorating

  • Whipped cream, fresh strawberries, funfetti and hundeds & thousands. However you could grate over some chocolate, or top with a compote, chocolate syrup or make it fun for the kids and add miniature donuts.

5. Blending

  • My NutriBullet is perfect to blend this yummy milkshake. If you don’t have a NutriBullet a blender or food processor would also work well.

6. Variations

  • For this particular Milkshake I used all strawberry ingredients, but you could mix things up by adding a scoop of peanut butter, a drizzle of melted chocolate, a spoonful of dark cocoa or a fresh banana for a healthy hit! The world’s your oyster!

7. Adding a little Tipsy Tip

  • Hehehehe I have being known to add a little tipsy to this Milkshake. My all time fav is Cointreau (Contreau is an orange-flavoured triple sec liqueur produced in Saint-Barthelemy-d’Anjou in France) If you were to follow my suit then only add approx. 1 tablespoon per serve.
  • When I make this Milkshake into this adult version I also have added 1/3 cup morello cherries (purchased in a jar at your local supermarket) Trust me this is seriously delicious and a bit of fun!

8. Vessels

  • I love serving my milkshakes in washed and cleaned Jam jars. Over a year you could save your jam jars and re-use for milkshakes, desserts, or making homemade jams.
  • I also love the glass milk bottles. Just add a Paper Straw and whaaalaaa!
